On 12 March, An Taoiseach issued new regulations and guidelines with respect to the coronavirus, Covid-19. We are facing a new situation that is changing each day, and so we are adapting.
As pointed out by our Bishop, we must all follow the advice from the HSE, which can be found HERE. This guidance is updated daily.
I have decided, after speaking with wardens and Lay Readers, and after hearing advice from our Bishop, to cancel the worship services in Croom, Kilpeacon, and Kilmallock on 15 March and for at least the next two weeks (through 29 March).
However, because I also consider that worship is important during challenging times, we will continue to hold worship services in Adare. On 15 March, this will be a Holy Communion service at 9.30.
Any changes will be announced in the eGleanings and on this page.
It is entirely up to you whether you attend worship. The Bishop stressed, and I agree, that we do not want anyone to feel compelled or obligated to attend worship. If you choose to stay at home, a page of services that are either being broadcast on TV or live-streamed on the Internet is available HERE.
All hospitals and nursing homes have suspended visits. I am glad to visit someone at home if requested, even just to call at the door without entering. I will also keep our entire parish family in my prayers. If you would like specific prayers, please let me know. This is an anxious time for many. I pray for health, strength, and freedom from anxiety for you and your loved ones.
